In this Pyuthan district, where agriculture is the main occupation, before 2007, some amount of forests have been cultivated. However, because the population density was low, the forests were abundant. Hence there was no particular obstacle in animal husbandry. At that time, there were no special forest laws and the full responsibility of the forest was in Talukdar, Mukhiya, Jimmuwal. After paying a couple of rupees, it was customary to give forest land to a special person close to him. As a result, most of the land is owned by private individuals. After the malaria control after 2007, the large forests near the two main rivers of this district, Jhimruk and Madikhola, were cleared for agriculture. Now the area has become the above mentioned area for agriculture.Even if the squatters do not come from outside, it has been found that the forests are rapidly being destroyed everywhere due to the habit of doing Kot and Besi by the same person. After the dominance of Mukhiya, Jimmuwal, after the implementation of the Forest Act 2018 for the protection and utilization of forests, it seems that a branch has been established under the district office and 1 ranger and forest ranger have been given the responsibility to manage the forest.Later, in 2034, Pyuthanavan Division was established. The said division used to look after the work of two districts, Pyuthan and Rolpa. In 2040, Pyuthan and Rolpa became separate forest offices.Since 2040, the forest administration and forest-related activities of this district have been carried out by District Forest Office Pyuthan, along with the implementation of federalism, since 2075, Division Forest Office, Pyuthan and sub-divisional forest offices have been established.
